AutoMedx was founded in 2004 by retired military Doctor Col William Wiesmann, James Evans, Alex Pranger and Earl Smith. In his last role in the Army Dr. Wiesmann was the Director of Combat Casualty Care. In that role he liaised with medics, physicians and the private sector to develop new products that improved triage capabilities and raised the standard of care on the battlefield.
The SAVe, AutoMedx’s first product, was built with support from the Air Force Force Protection BattleLab and the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA). The SAVe received FDA clearance in 2007 and CE Mark in 2012. The SAVe II was funded by DARPA and went into production in 2015.
SAVe II portable medical ventilators are developed and ideally suited to meet life-saving and sustaining respiratory support needs of patients across a range of medical environments.
The company is headquartered in Plano, Texas. AutoMedx is ISO 13485 certified.
